Unmanaged SoHo switches.

Small fanouts where management features aren't much needed,
and users are too busy to learn to use them even if they
were there. They are also cheap and compact.

I'll add they ones that really irk me are the ones that refuse to notice when a
MAC address moves to another port. You have to power these off if you change any
cabling.
