Tricky. How would you know whether the rate-limiting step is
due to the network card, or due to the Northbridge, or due to
the IP stack, or due to interrupt response time?
If you set up a test involving different network cards in the same
configuration, you could judge that any consistant measured
speed differences are associated with the different cards (or their
different drivers), but measuring the actual speed of a single
card in isolation is difficult.
