If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
I looked at the routing table of the wrt54g and found, in addition to
the usual ip 192.168.1.2; subnet mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 0.0.0.0
the following

destination lan ip: xxx.xxx.224.0 (numbers not presented)
subnet mask: 255.255.248.0
gateway 0.0.0.0

and the second entry
destination lan IP 0.0.0.0
subnet mask 0.0.0.0
gateway xxx.xxx.224.1 (xxx.xxx being the same as the above route

is this right or wrong? If wrong, how can I fix?
