If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
Several VARs are telling us that Nortel is no longer extending
discounted maintenance to any VAR's.
Is wanting to see if true and what the deal is ?
Also if that is the case is it possible to go directly to Nortel and
purchase maintenance and get discounts that way?
We are a big Nortel shop with several hundred pieces of equipment,
several 8610's with many applications switches on the LAN
Executive management is ready to forklift all out and go with Cisco, due
to the fact every manager we have thinks Cisco is the only credible
network gear on the market these days, with this bit of a problem I can
no longer defend keeping the Nortel products at all, If I can keep our
maintenance from going up from last year too much I can keep them from
doing anything as I would like to keep what we have.
Does anyone know of any recourse for getting the maintenance discounted ?
