Dear group members.
I had a problem to use ethernet phy.
I need to monitor link loss according to fault of cabling and link
active according to reconnecting cable.
But no detail information is found in phy product datasheet.
So I want to listen user's experience about this issue.
Configuration: 100base-tx, full-duplex
PHY1 -- wires for TX of PHY1 --> PHY2
<--wires for RX of PHY1 --
Question1: If one of wires for TX of PHY1 disconnected, then how much
time do PHY1 and PHY2 take to detect the link fault?
E0 <-time1-> E1<-time2->E2<-time3->E3<-time4->E4
E0: Disconnected wires for TX of PHY1
E1: PHY2 detects link fault and informs to LED pin about link fault
information
E2: PHY2 shutdown the TX, RX link
E3: PHY1 detects link fault and informs to LED pin about link fault
information
E4: PHY1 shutdown the TX, RX link
maximum of time1 ?
maximum of time2 ?
maximum of time3 ?
maximum of time4 ?
Question2: opposite situation of Question1
If all of wires connected after one of wires for TX of PHY1
disconnection, how much time do PHY1 and PHY2 need to reconstruct
link? specially how much time difference between PHY1's reconstruct
link and PHY2's reconstruct link do they have?
Thanks for reading my message and future reply.
