Since I have installed 12.4(15)XZ on my 2801, some 3 weeks ago, I am having
2-3 crashes every 24 hrs. When I look in the sh ver, I see:
System returned to ROM by bus error at PC 0x61DC9624, address 0xB0D0B29
At every crash I see the same error as stated above.
Does any body has a clue what is going on here ?

Thanks, John

Typically bus errors are caused by faulty hardware or software defects
(bugs)

I assume your router was functional with the previous release, thus
the most likely explanation is that the new version of IOS you loaded
is faulty

Why did you upgrade to this particular IOS version ?

I would suggest trying a 12.4 mainline or 12.4 T stream IOS version to
see if same issue is encountered

12.4(19)b

12.4(15)T5

Thanks,Merv. I upgraded to this because to check out the new functions on
CME 4.3
(CUCME 4.3). And you are right, in the previous IOS I had no problems at
all.
If you have any more help, I would appreciate it very much !

If you need to use that particular IOS version, then open a case with
the Cisco TAC

There could be an issue with the memory as well... The new code may be
using more memory. Memory that may not have been used in the old
version of code.
Merv is right though - open a case with Cisco... see if they can
identify the bug (or possible hardware issue).
