Hello,

While trying to upgrade a Cisco 877W, I can't get the new IOS installed
because of error:

rommon 7 > tftpdnld

IP_ADDRESS: 192.168.1.254
IP_SUBNET_MASK: 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT_GATEWAY: 192.168.1.254
TFTP_SERVER: 192.168.1.10
TFTP_FILE: c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin
Do you wish to continue? y/n: [n]: y

Receiving c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin from 192.168.1.10
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
File reception completed.

TFTP flash copy: Invalid file header, copy terminated.
Reason: Wrong target platform OR corrupt file.

IOS File: c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin
Size: 18965488
md5sum: 43289fbba9a93254fe18a63250fbaa23

Hardware:
Cisco 877W (MPC8272) processor (revision 0x300) with 118784K/12288K
bytes of memory.
Processor board ID ************
MPC8272 CPU Rev: Part Number 0xC, Mask Number 0x10
4 FastEthernet interfaces
1 ATM interface
1 802.11 Radio
128K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
36864K bytes of processor board System flash (Intel Strataflash)

Could you please compare with your own IOS file if you use that one, and
tell me if my file is corrupted or any other problem cause for the
upgrade failure?

(AFAIK) platform is ok.

Regards,

I just re-downloaded the file (different size):

New file downloaded from internet:
-rw------- 1 nobody nogroup 18950320 2008-09-05 14:24
c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin
d0d2633542ce736895ead821219f2e2a c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin

New file TFTPed to the c870 and reuploated to the TFTP server for
comparison:
-rw------- 1 nobody nogroup 18950320 2008-09-05 14:32
c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin.tftp
d0d2633542ce736895ead821219f2e2a c870-advipservicesk9-mz.124-15.T7.bin.tftp

These stays identical before and after beying transfered via TFTP. So,
there is no problem with larger thant 16Mb files.

I'll try the reload.
