Hi !

I have a single question :

Is having configuration line like "ppp authentication...", "compress
stac", and so on, on both bri and dialer interface makes any difference,
or is it required it is only on one of them ?

i guess my sentence is not as easy to understand as i would, so these
are some line of my router's configuration:

interface BRI0/0
no ip address
encapsulation ppp
dialer pool-member 5
compress stac
ppp authentication chap
!
interface Dialer0
ip address 172.26.0.254 255.255.255.0
encapsulation ppp
dialer remote-name xxxxxxxx
dialer string xxxxxxx
dialer pool 5
compress stac
ppp authentication chap
ppp chap hostname xxxxxxx
ppp chap password xxxxxxx

thx...

There's a simple answer to this. If your connection is always terminated
on Dialer0 interface, then you do not really need 'ppp compress stac' or
'ppp auth chap' commands on main interface.

You can always put specific commands to physical interface only and they
will be inherited by dialer interface (in theory),
