Hi

I am getting the following error when installing wic 1Eth on a 2612
router, its using IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-BIN-M), Version
12.2(11)T, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) which I believe should support this,
although I have read many conflicting reports

That module is only supported on the 17xx series of routers. To get
more ethernet ports, you'll have to use a NM (Network Module), not a
WIC.
