This movie, from 1983, is kind of a starting point for the home
computer communicator revolution. It's 25 years ago so the
technololgy is hopelessly obsolete. The movie's a little overdone and
corny. But it is interesting to watch to see the old telephone
technology, a good "now and then" view.
It will be on AMC cable Fri June 27th, 10 pm, as well as other times.
Check local listings.

The technology was hopelessly out of date _for_ _1983_!! They had
accoustic couplers with mechanical handset lifts, a computer with
register switches on its front, and the obligatory tape drives in the
"computer center". Sigh.
For all that, it _was_ an entertaining film, well acted and enjoyable.
It also caused a lot of people to think about the Laisez-faire
attitude toward security that plagued many schools and small companies
even to the present day.
