We are searching for a dynamic and innovative VP R&D. The candidate will
work closely with the CEO and VP marketing to bring to market breakthrough
communication services . The VP R&D will report directly to the CEO and have
the responsibility for the company's technology leadership in the market.
Specifically S/he will oversee the development and testing of the company's
services, applied R&D, technology partnerships, technical development
strategies.
To be considered for this position the following previous experience is
mandatory:
* Previous background and success in a start-up environment
* Experience with latest communication technologies and environments
associated with VoIP and web 2.0
* Led top R&D team in rapidly delivering complex software products to market
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a technical plan that supports the strategy of
marketing and operational objectives
- Operate under a intense time-to-market sense of urgency
- Provide concise updates to the CEO and Board of Directors on a regular
basis
- Project Management set objectives, schedules, target dates and costs
- Manage code development, analysis, Q & A and deployment
- Create, own and execute technical roadmap to create a highly flexible,
scalable and extendable architecture
- Build and manage a full technology team.
- Maintain an environment that stimulates innovation and creativity within a
fast paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Technical background a must
- Natural leader with strong organizational skills
- Undergraduate Degree (technical graduate degree a plus)
- 7+ years technology development experience
- 3+ years technology management experience
- Proven expertise in all aspects of production and development
infrastructure, including load balancing, firewalls, web servers,
application servers, database servers, et al.
- Desired experience with following environments is a plus: SIP, C,
Asterisk, Jabber, Ajax, Java, Soap, XML. Experience with IP PBX or Voice
over IM platforms also a plus.
- Ability to implement major technology changes focused on scalability and
reliability
- Excellent communication (including written) and presentation skills
Accountability
- Demonstrable track record of success. High energy. Results orientated.
Highly motivated.
- Ability to think strategically but hands-on approach and get the job done
attitude absolutely required.
- Professional level English -written and spoken
- Working French is a plus
