Transcender has a question about cable connection between a workstation and
a router, there answer is use a crossover cable.

I think it is a straight through cable.

Has any one else used the transcender for the 640-802 exam?

Thanks

cross-over is the correct answer. If you connect a workstation to a
switch then it is a straight through cable.

The cable type is related to the X cross on the device.

There is a super-simple way to remember:

1. Connecting similar devices requires a crossover cable; dissimilar
devices require straight-through.

2. Group devices into two groups -- [PCs & routers] and [switches &
hubs]. You can think of the first group as devices that have more
control over the network and the second group as devices with less
control. Or the first group is smarter, or . . .

3. A wire between these two groups is a straight-through; a wire
within a group is a cross-over.
