I've been told that it's no longer possible to get a new cellphone
number by specifying it and checking to see if the number is
available. Does anyone have any tricky ideas for being able to choose
at least some of the digits in your new phone number?

Thx!

Mark

I wouldn't believe every rumor I hear.

Of course it is still "possible".

In the relentless pursuit of the almighty dollar at the expense of customer
service, the company you are dealing with has, no doubt, decided that they
won't waste their time indulging your desires.
Try another company if it is really that important to you.

Also, things in the category of "I've been told" are often not true.
