If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options


I've seen this setup a couple times, why would you setup a private
addess on the loopback interface?

In general? Since it's used for management only (and as Router-IDs),
some feel "why burn a real IP address"

Kind of like people using RFC1918 addresses on transit serial links.
