If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options


As I am aware, if a router is newly introduced in a TCP-IP Network, the
routing tables required for it are automatically loaded by
communicating with all the nearest routers.
Is 'Hello' protocol meant for this purpose? If no, please provide more
information on it.

Also, does this protocol really provide 100% self-configuration
possibilities for a router? If not, what are the things that need to be
taken care w.r.t. router configuration?
