Greetings
Trying to get paged by Callpilot and Symposium through SNMP.
In the event we were to have a critical or major alarm in any one of
our CallPilot servers or Symposium server, we would like to receive an
SNMP trap letting us know that the alarm has been triggered. From the
documentation that we have read on NORTEL' s web site, it appears that
we do have the capability to receive these alarms from the servers.
However what we are unsure of is how to go about filtering the alarms
so that we receive the alarms that are truly "Critical" or "Major". If
anyone out there is using the SNMP traps today, could you please
provide us with the following information:
1.) How were you able to determine which alarms were truly "Major" and
which were truly "Critical" when you were setting up the alarm filters?
There are 100's if not thousands of alarms, so what mechanism did you
use to filter out what you wanted?
2.) What are you using to receive the SNMP traps?
3.) Our goal is to ultimately get paged by real significant problems on
these servers.
Thank for any input.
