I think I've solved the problem...with a new console cable ordered. After
messing with it some more, and nothing making sense, I decided to look at
the pinouts for the console cable a little closer. Turns out, wires were
stranded wire, with 5 pair of wires, and one had no insulation on it
whatsoever. Also, the pinouts only had 7 wires in the connector, which
I kinda figured wasn't right. The only thing I can figure is that the
pinouts were wrong because somebody used something like an old serial
cable to rip people off, and put it on ebay, because, "Whatever it is,
you'll find it on ebay." Oh well, thanks for all the help guys!
