|From there I discovered the larger world of rec.* and
|talk.* newsgroups and I spent way too much time in the library logged
|into the campus Unix machine reading newsgroups.
In the good old days we had net. and mod. None of those newfangled
hierarchies.
|We old-timers think of Google Groupers the same way some view AOL
|users. We read USENET the way the RFC's intended, through a news

|I'm just weepy with nostalgia, and by the way, _I_ ran HDOS on a box
|with 8" floppies.
I hope that wasn't on Heath's "own" H47 product, the worst 8" drives ever
created.
|Special extra credit if you can tell me the warning
|message that appeared when setting HDOS STANDALONE.
It is Now Pitch Dark. If You Proceed, You Will Likely Fall Into a Pit.

Congratulations! You win the prize!!
And, yes, it was the H-47, and, yes, they _were_ the worst 8" drives
ever created.
