I started this thread May 14, 2004 (ref:
http://groups.google.com/group/alt.internet.wireless/browse_frm/thread/9fe1fd848ca33fb6/377df606dac2b44d?&hl=en#377df606dac2b44d)

I just discovered that SMC has a firmware upgrade v2.08 (Mar 9 2005) that
was much later than the version I had been running (Dec 2003, after an
upgrade to 1.951 they had sent me in May/2004 proved to be even more
faulty). Checked all the files on my Yahoo!Groups site with full firewall
security turned on and had no access problem. Pinged all the known file
server domain names and discovered that f4.grp.yahoofs.com no longer points
to a .255 address! Maybe Yahoo got wise. I'm no wiser whether SMC actually
fixed their mistaken handling of incoming packets from .0 and .255
addresses. At least, they were still supporting the product with new
firmware up to a year ago!
