Hi All.
Got a wierd issue here, I'm hoping someone has seen this one.
I've got a Cisco 837 Router, running IOS 12.3(7)XR3.
I have a DSL connection through Bellsouth, connecting through a Dialer
interface.
I have currently configured port forwarding to allow PC Anywhere
traffic from the internet into a specific inside host. After applying
the Access-List and NAT statements, port-forwarding works as it should.
I have no trouble accessing the inside hosts via PC Anywhere. When the
router is rebooted, upon the successful boot, I am no longer able to
connect remotly using PC Anywhere. I go into config mode and remove the
NAT statements and immediatly reapply, NAT is working again and I can
again connect remotly using PC Anywhere. Another reload of the router
confirms the same symptoms, and again, reapplying the NAT statements
fixes the issue.
I have a static IP address that is aquired during PPPoE negotiation.
This means, I don't assign the IP address to the Dialer, I have "ip
address negotiated" on the dialer.
Here are my pertinant nat statements:
ip nat inside source list 1 interface Dialer0 overload
ip nat inside source static tcp 10.255.1.123 5631 interface Dialer0
5631
ip nat inside source static udp 10.255.1.123 5632 interface Dialer0
5632
Any thoughts?

well both XR1 and XR2 were deferred, so I would suggest seeing if
another 12.3 stream will support your 837

If you were Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options I'm afraid I might be in a chicken and the egg scenario. We had to use
the current XR release because it provides some functionality the
other streams don't, i.e. it allows us to add a DMZ port to the router
by creating an Ethernet2 and having it associated with FastEthernet4.
This of course is a new feature only introduces a couple of months
back. Unfortunatly, this feature is a requrement. I'm afraid I might be
dealing with a bug.
I've got a case open with Cisco TAC, but wondered if anyone and seen
this.
Thanks.
