I am troubleshooting some connectivity problems I have while accessing
the Internet. I´m using PingPlotter to monitor some hosts over a
period of time. I have 2 comps behind a router. One will actively use
the Internet and the other monitors the pings.

I have noticed that when I am using a steady stream of about 70% of my
bandwidth capacity, ping values will increase considerably (even at
the first hop).

I´m confused with this because it´s either a problem with my
LAN/router or using ping like this will give false numbers.

Can I use bandwidth while reading ping values or should everything be
quiet for true measurement? I would think 70% should provide ample
room for pings going back and forth, if so, how do | interpret my
results?

tks
