If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options


Please can somebody help have purchased a new Netgear router set up
all the cables but my modem just won't talk to tiscali. This
obviously is causing me great annoyance but am unable to figure out
the problem. Although my setting are the same as quoted on the
tiscali website, however it says not connecting to server.

Please if anyone knows anything advise

If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options


disconnect the cable to ethernet card, go into device manager and
uninstalling the ethernet card.
reboot the machine and cable modem. Then just connect the cable.
If this doesn't work you may have a bad card or cable modem or a poor
connection to the
IP.

Then you're in the wrong newsgroup. This is for cable Internet access. Your
piece of equipment is an ADSL modem and router combination, so while we
often deal with home router issues, your problem appears to be one with the
ADSL modem and your ADSL provider. That's not what we deal with in this
group.
