I have a Scientific Atlanta DPC2100 modem from Comcast for their cable
internet service.
I then have the internet signal sent to my router, from which I have a
couple of connections:
- Desktop PC
- Vonage modem
and wireless LAN for laptops in my home.
Things were fine until a couple of weeks ago, when suddenly, I lost
connection to the Web. This could be fixed by unplugging the cable
modem, waiting a minute and plugging it back in. However, it is
happening several times a day, so it is pretty cumbersome. When I take
the router out of the mix and just connect the cable modem to the PC,
then the connection doesn't drop. Seems like something downstream is
affecting my cable modem ... I even changed routers, but that didn't
help. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
