After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, we isolated the source of a
bug that plagued us for months. Our venerable Linksys BEFSR41 router
developed a pesky connection drop problem, amongst other intermittent
bugs that required a power down reset. So we assumed that the old girl
was dying and bought a new one.

Wrong move.

Same bugs. Updated firmware. Same bugs.

Emailed Linksys. No answer.

Contacted ISP. Tech came out and checked the lines. Nothing out of
spec.

Tried a third Linksys. Same bugs. Updated firmware. Same bugs.

Tried D-Link EBR-2310 router.

Huzzah. Works. ZERO BUGS.

Conclusion: Cisco Systems (new owner of Linksys) may be in for a drop
in sales, if this is an indication of their "Quality Control" and
customer service.
