I need to be able to set up an RV042 internet gateway to allow an incoming
PING to get to a particular fixed private IP on the inside.

I'm trying to figure out how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fred

Create a VPN connection. Yeah I know, an obvious answer but the correct
one. You will not be able to forward ICMP traffic from the public
interface so that's the solution.

Mike,

Thanks for the reply. No, not so obvious to me about the VPN! :-)

Anyway I was afraid of that response regarding ICMP traffic / PING but I'm
dealing with a request to make it happen. I know that doesn't overcome
reality most of the time.

A VPN is out of the question.

What if I set up a route from a specific external IP address to a specific
internal IP address?
Oh! I found a setting that will do exactly that under: "Firewall" ......

Thanks,

Fred
