Problem solved. Cox technician installed a D-Link card that he'd brought
with him. The secret:
Just slap in the card, forget Windows' Installation "wizard" (dumb thing),
and connect at very high speed - 8.8 Gbps. Just click the browser start
icon.
My D-link was DFE 530 TX+, his is DFE 550TX.
Slow with cable via USB connection: 1.8 to 2.4 Mbps. Measured at a cox web
site, http://test.lvcm.com/ Fails: Pointed the idiot wizard every which way, to CD files and D/L'ed
files. The Wiz could not...anything.
