We are going to add a PRI between the Option 11c and another pbx. We
have asked for a quote for a TDMI card and D-channel daughterboard.
The vendor tells us that since we are at Call Server VERSION 2121
RELEASE 3 ISSUE 00, we don't need D-channel hardware. It's now
covered in the s/w - System Limits excerpt:
DCH 80 LEFT 79 USED 1
TMDI D-CHANNELS 64 LEFT 63 USED 1

True? No hardware required for a D-channel??

thanks,

True

If you've got a TMDI card, and at least one TMDI D-Channel ISM available
(you do, according to the posted info!), then you just program the hardware
that is already present on the TMDI card. It looks like you've already got a
TMDI D-Channel, and a regular D-Channel programmed in the switch. It
programs as a MSDL. Card x (the slot the TMDI lives in), port 0.

On another note:
Assuming you've already got a T1 going somewhere else, you won't need a
clock controller either. If the other switch has no T1's going anywhere, it
will need a clock controller, and you will want to slave it off of this
carrier. If it also already has a T1 going to some sort of Public switch -
Telco, MCI, etc. - and the switch you are at now does the same, you are
already all set for timing.
