If you were  Registered and logged in, you could reply and use other advanced thread options
My old Motorola SB 4100 died a few days back. Does it really matter what
brand/model of modem to buy? Walmart has the Motorola SB 5120 for around
$54.00 OR I can buy a used WebStar from my cable co. for around $30.00. Is
one any better?

I'd go with the Motorola SB 5120 (or the SB 5100). Overall it gets the best
reviews of any out there.

Before buying anything, you should check with your cable co. and see
what they allow.

Thanks and I did. They will allow the Motorola SB5120 which my local Walmart
sells.
