Hello,

I am trying to get the e-Mail feature of my Partner Messaging R7
working. I'm using a networked Win 2000 machine with the Unified
Messaging program installed and apparently working. The "unify with e-
mail" box is checked on the mailbox extension I'm testing, and the
digitized message immediately shows up in the "holding" folder, but
nothing else happens.

I have a generic no-auth SMTP forwarding account set up, but the e-
mail header seems to be invalid. For example, it says
"Messaging@mymail.com@smtp.com". The folks at the forwarding service
tell me the last "@smtp.com" just won't work, but I'm not even certain
the message is leaving my computer.

Does anyone have a step-by-step setup instruction for using SMTP with
the R7 Messaging? I'm reasonably sure the problem is with the domain
and mail server entries...I don't know enough about what I'm doing to
understand what really needs to go in these boxes. So far, I've spent
about 3 days tinkering with this setup, and have tried about every
combination I can think of.

Any help is appreciated!

Go to Avaya.com, on the home page on the right side there is a box
marked "support". click on "Documentation" then select Partner
Messaging Rel. 7.0. go to "Partner Messaging: Installation,
Migrations, updates and configurations". There should be a step by
step proceedure located in that document. good luck.
