I have a 1750 router here with a VIC-2FXO-M1 card. Upon bootup, with
the card in any slot, I received:

00:00:05: %PQUICC-1-UNKNOWN_WIC: PQUICC(0), WIC card has an unknown ID
of 0x2B

I went through the Cisco tool to select the IOS I needed and installed
c1700-sv3y-mz.122-27.bin so I'm now on:

IOS (tm) C1700 Software (C1700-SV3Y-M), Version 12.2(27), RELEASE
SOFTWARE (fc3)

I still get the "unknown ID" error even though the tool at
http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/FusionHome.do said it was
supported.

Am I using the wrong IOS? I reset the thing to factory defaults and
reloaded to find the same error.

Some helpful person directed me to the link below. Apparently I need
IOS 12.2(2)XJ

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps274/products_tech_note09186a00800b53c7.shtml

It's not on http://www.cisco.com/kobayashi/sw-center/sw-ios.shtml - the
IOS download page though. Is there a different download page I'm not
seeing?

Hi Paul,

Try 12.2(15)T and later versions of IOS. I would go to the latest T
release if I were you, but the support for that card should be there in
15T. Let me know if this works, if not I will try and investigate it a
little further.

Thanks
Anthony

I just tried c1700-sv3y-mz.122-15.T14.bin but I don't have enough
memory for that it seems - I get this error:

TFTP flash copy: Error, image size (9372712) larger than flash
(8388608).

After looking around the Cisco site it seems all the IOS firmware
related to voip on the 1750 needs 16MB of flash mem. I guess I need to
upgrade the memory as a "show version" tells me I only have 8MB:

(The failed upgrade to 12.2(15)T left me with ROMmon only so I put the
standard IP version of 12.3(12) on.
