We currently have a 6 Months Contract to hire opportunity for a VOIP
Network Solutions Engineer with our direct telecom client located in
Sterling, VA.
Job Responsibilities:
=95 Looking for a candidate with strong technical skills to be part of
Client=92s VOIP Solutions team.
=95 This team=92s responsibilities include designing and testing customer
VoIP solutions, testing interoperability and certification of vendor=92s
products in VoIP lab as well as providing pre and post sales support.
=95 The person will report to the Manager of VoIP Solutions Engineering
team and also work with the Software Engineering Manager, Business
Development group and end Customers to help develop, integrate and
test VoIP solutions and products for the Next Generation Networks
(NGN).
=95 The candidate must have strong knowledge of the new and existing
Telephony protocols and their interworking.
Required Skills:
=95 5+ years experience integrating, testing or developing carrier and
enterprise-grade, high-availability Telecom solutions
=95 3+ years advanced networking and converged networking experience
=95 Expertise in various new and existing Telephony/VoIP protocols like
SIP, H323, ENUM, TLS, SS7, H.323, RTP, IS41/GSM/MAP, NAT, STUN, TURN
etc.
=95 In depth understanding and troubleshooting skills of TCP/IP networks
(e.g., routing tables, host/network configuration issues), Cisco
certification a plus
=95 Experience of working on Linux/UNIX/Solaris platforms
=95 Able to write scripts in Unix/Linux environment using Shell/Perl,
Python, TCL or other scripting language (5% of his time)
=95 Knowledge of database (Oracle, MySQL) concepts preferred
=95 Experience with VoIP test tools (sipp) and equipment such as IP-PBXs
(Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Nortel, Siemens, asterisk), SIP phones
(Hard Phones and Softclients), Wireshark/TCPDump, TTCN, EAST/Hammer
=95 Creative, flexible, and be able to handle multiple projects at the
same time.
=95 Experience in planning, designing, integrating, and deploying best-
in-breed technologies for telecommunications and data networking
=95 Able to create and execute test plans, test cases and test reports
using tools such as TestDirector/Quality Center
=95 Interface with customers, understand their needs, create network
Architecture diagrams (VoIP specific), Customer Acceptance test plans
and execute them independently and/or with customers/partners for
trials and certifications
=95 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
=95 Willingness to travel (up to 20% of the time)
=95 Strong people skills, ability to work well with various teams
=95 BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
